We Can't Erase the Past, But We Can Delete It From Our Blog

After reading my last post, I decided to get rid of it. Just seemed too negative and I guess I was going through a hard time. Even after nearly three years living in a foreign country, it IS possible to get culture shock or to just feel frustrated with everything around you. It especially happens when I realize how isolated I am here in the great boonies of Japan. I suppose the same is true for those living in the big, busy cities like Tokyo. Maybe. The thing is, when you live in a big city, you can choose to go to a place that's poppin' or somewhere nice and quiet, too. You can go to the bookstore (quiet) or you can hit the bar (poppin' loud). In the countryside, you can go to the river (peaceful, sort of quiet) or you can go to the...big festival that's held once a year. But that only happens...once a year. Oh man, I'm doing it again!

Okay, so on a positive note, we've got golden week here in Japan. That means this coming weekend is actually a four-day holiday. Last weekend was a three-day holiday. So I love golden week. And the cherry blossoms have finally started blooming here in our unexplored Yukon of very northern Japan, this (not-so) tropical island. Yes, you named it. You got it- it's Sakura Time! And with that, I will introduce you to my crazy friend and the video we made last year while we were having a picnic. And I do have to say, Alexis (my wife) is a great camera operator (especially considering that the video was taken on a cellphone). Alas, with no further adieu (or a don't@v@), here's a little jumping around for you:

A song about the sunshine 'n' stuff

For a longer version of some music and scenery of cherry blossom flowers (in Tokachi), check out this link. Check it out! You may be underwhelmed, or perhaps even whelmed. No, but seriously, the bird sounds are nice, and the gentle sound of two friends talking in the background. And the tree! Our little tree stunt-classic!
Anyway, hope to hear from you soon. For now, here's the other link:

Any sense we have is a great gift and a chance to feel something.
